Meeting Structure
Working Group / Large Coalition Meetings
These meetings are held bi-monthly. During these meetings, members of the coalition (representatives from various community-based organizations) highlight community concerns and form ways to address them through structural change objectives. Additionally, these meetings are also a designated space for sharing resources and trainings.
Subcommittee Meetings
Youth Linkage to Care
This subcommittee focuses on making policy changes around medical care for newly diagnosed youth while examing barriers to linking, engaging and retaining youth in treatment and care. Here's one structural change objective that has been completed:

Detroit Receiving Hospital Emergency Department will have a new policy in place to inform the referral of newly diagnosed youth into care when they test preliminary (HIV) positive at the Emergency Department.
HIV Education
This subcommittee works on educating youth and adults about HIV and other STIs. The following structural change objective has recently been completed:

Detroit Job Corps will have a new practice where staff and residents will receive comprehensive HIV education annually, by an AIDS Service Organization.
LGBTQ Youth Support
This subcommittee focuses on ideas and projects that support LGBTQ youth in the community. Here's an example of a structural change we're making:

5 Detroit businesses will replace their binary bathroom signs to "Gender irrelevant" signs in order to create a gender neutral atmosphere.
Sustainability and Leadership
This subcommittee highlights the bylaws and works together to make the coalition sustainable! No structural change objectives are completed in this subcommittee.
